Thank you for your interest in learning more about the Career Center.

University of Arkansas students learn about the Career Center through you! We appreciate your personal referral of students to our Center and we look forward to working with you.

"The Career Development Center has some awesome programs! From day 1, the students can get help with selecting a major through testing and counseling. As freshmen, students can enroll in the Professional Development Institute that will help them learn how to present themselves professionally to get the great job offers they want. As sophomores and juniors, the CDC helps them find co-ops and internships in their majors. As seniors, these professionals help our students find that job that they have dreamed about. The Career Development Center is one of the most important resources to all students on campus."

"I am continually impressed by all of the services that the Career Development Center offers to the campus community. It is important to reach out to students early in their academic journey and that is exactly what they do - from career interest tests, to assisting students with resumes and interviewing skills to helping them land a job - they have a game plan for students at every year level."

Opportunities to Collaborate with the Career Development Center

We Speak!

We welcome the opportunity to come into your class to offer instruction on various career topics. We can give a quick overview of our services or we can plan an entire class presentation. If you plan to cancel a class, call us. We may be able to do a presentation and take attendance for you instead! Topics can include:

Career Fairs

Over 100 recruiters come to our campus every fall and spring semester for the Career Fairs. This is a great time for students to network with potential employers, find out about co-ops and internships, or full-time employment. Faculty members can also make contacts at the fairs with recruiters that represent your teaching area. Contacts you make often enjoy getting involved in your classroom! For Career Fair information, contact Beckye Clark at 575-7379 or raclark@uark.edu.

Career-Related Projects

Here are some ideas for classroom projects that link classroom teaching to career readiness:

Contact Angela Williams at 575-3360 or angelaw@uark.edu.

Send Students Our Way!

We love referrals and have several full-time counselors that spend one-on-one time with students in these convenient locations: Union 607, Business Building 117 and Bell 3159. We help students with personality & interest profiles, deciding a major, career planning, and interviewing skills. Call 575-2805 to make an appointment.

Mock Interviews

If you want to schedule mock interviews for your students with employers from your field, use our interview rooms. There is no charge for faculty to reserve our interview rooms. Mock interviews are a great way to practice communication skills before the real interview! If you want us to help arrange a mock interview, please contact Angela Williams at 575-3360 or angelaw@uark.edu.

eRecruiting

Tell your students about eRecruiting on-line job searches at http://erecruiting.uark.edu. It's free and easy to use. Students can upload their resume and apply for local, regional, national, full-time, part-time and co-op employment from the comfort of their home computer. We offer classroom or one-on-one training on the use of eRecruiting. We can also walk you through the steps by phone. Contact us at 575-2805.

Announce Our Workshops

We can put you on an e-mail list to notify you of monthly workshops so that you can alert your students. Workshop topics are varied but can include: Careers in ("You pick the field"); Internships/Cooperative Education; Networking; Applying to Graduate/Professional School; and How to Get a Federal Job.
